Peruvian Restaurant and Ceviche Bar in Miami Lakes

Dr. Limón Ceviche Bar opened on Miami Lakes Drive in 2017, and the room still fills the way it did that first year: loud, bright, full of people passing plates around the table. We serve Peruvian food the way it is actually eaten in Peru, starting with ceviche and going a long way past it.

We are close to Main Street and minutes from the Palmetto Expressway, an easy drive from Hialeah, Miami Gardens and Country Club. There is plenty of parking when you get here.

What to Order

Start with ceviche. The Remedio Casero is the traditional one, with aji limo. The Fiebre Amarilla comes in yellow pepper leche de tigre and the Fiebre Alta in rocoto. If you cannot choose, order the Leche de Tigre on its own and drink it.

After that the kitchen goes in several directions. Lomo Saltado and Pollo Saltado are the classics, beef or chicken wok fired with soy, tomato, onion and cilantro, served with fries and rice. Arroz con Mariscos is a seafood rice cooked in beer and salsa criolla. The chaufas are Peruvian fried rice, the causas are cold layered yellow potato with seafood, and the nikkei rolls are where Peru meets Japan. There is a Healthy Under 500 Calories section if you want something lighter, and a Signature list for the dishes that made our name.

Where the Name Comes From

Chef Carlos Brescia, born in Chiclayo, Peru, founded Dr. Limón in 2012 and brought it to Miami Lakes in 2017. The joke runs all the way through the menu: the dishes carry medical names, the cures come out of the kitchen, and the doctor is always taking new patients. Ask about the 911 Emergencia if you want to see what that looks like on a plate.
